Clinical trials of medicinal products for bronchial asthma

Objective: To define the concepts of clinical trial of a medicinal product, asthma and to show the types of asthma. To present the classification of antiasthmatic drugs and to give a detailed description of some of them. Materials and methods: We use data from the global asthma initiative (GINA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the inspiro-bg.com website. Results and discussion: Asthma is a heterogeneous disease accompanied by chronic airway inflammation. Review of monoclonal antibodies and their uses, combinations of inhaled corticosteroids and long-acting β2-agonists was made. A description of the asthma studies which pharmacist should know.
