Introduction: As an independent science, demography studies the laws and factors that determine and influence such events from human life such as birth, death, and life expectancy. A basic indicator of population statics is the population. Other relevant indicators include life expectancy at 65 years and life expectancy in years adapted to a state of physical incapacity. Materials and мethods: A study intended to search correlation with the above indicators was conducted. The analysis was performed with Spearman's correlation coefficient (Spearman's rho). It was assumed that the demographic indicators listed are related to the number of ongoing clinical trials. The study was conducted for the period 2007-2016 in the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA). The data was downloaded from the World Health Organization and Eurostat databases. Results: In the analysis of the number of clinical trials conducted by the industry and open to recruitment, there is a relationship with the following demographic indicators: population number and life expectancy at 65 years. The result of disability adjusted life years indicates that there is no relation with the number of industry-led clinical trials, which are open to patient recruitment.
