Acute toxicity is an important parameter that characterizes pharmacologically active compounds. In modern science we often use different methods for prediction and preliminary evaluation of pharmacological and toxicological performance of new molecules. A group of newly sinthesised hydrazones was evaluated using two theoretical methods:EPA T.E.S.T. and Gusar. They both defined the compounds as low toxic. In an attempt to prove the predictive capability we measured the in vitro acute toxicity. The experimental results confirmed the theoretical data and showed that the tested compounds have low toxicity.
